The Band
Vocalist Nayla Wilmore - Nayla is a Sacred Hearts graduate. A very seasoned pro, she has performed locally, nationally, and internationally. She was also a former backup singer for R&B artist Patti LaBelle. She was also fortunate to be chosen to be one of the backup vocalists when Mariah Carey came to Hawaii for a concert and auditioned local talent here for her backup vocal section.
Drummer Byron Farm - Byron is a former member of the iconic high school and nightclub band from the 70’s, Greenwood. Byron also went on to play with longtime wedding band Break Away with a fellow Crusader grad and brother Vernon Lau ‘73.
Guitar Owen Kajiwara - Owen is also a former member and the original and only Guitarist for the band Greenwood. He’s also currently a member of the local band Imua and Wasabi. Owen is a busy guy that also gets the call frequently for the guitar chair with other bands in the local music scene as well.
Keyboards Edwin Ramones - Edwin is well known as being the leader for The Fabulous Krush that had a very long stint at The Garden Bar at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Sax Jonathan Cabagbag - Jonathan is a member of the Royal Hawaiian band. He’s also very active in the Honolulu music scene. You can catch him monthly also at the Blue Note with The Mike Lewis Big Band. He also just got featured to sit in and play with our Crusader classmate and brother Michael Paulo ‘74 at his recent jazz concert here the past Sunday.
Hawaii-based musician Terry Lum has spent decades fueling the local music scene with rhythm, versatility, and passion. His musical journey began during his freshman year at Saint Louis School, where he first picked up the trumpet. Though the instrument required steep dedication and immense practice, Terry’s hard work quickly paid off.
By his junior year, his natural drive as a bandleader emerged. He formed High Voltage, a dynamic nine-piece band that became a staple of the local youth culture, performing weekly at high school dances throughout his junior and senior years.
Following graduation, Terry expanded his musical horizons by picking up the bass guitar—a move that would redefine his sound and career. In roughly 1998, he channeled this new rhythmic focus into founding Infusion. The group quickly established itself as a powerhouse in the local nightlife and entertainment circuit.
Throughout its run, Infusion brought high-energy performances to iconic Hawaii venues and major sporting events, including:
Premier Nightclubs & Lounges: Regular gigs at local staples like Kapono’s, Brew Moon, and Jazz Minds.
University of Hawaii Athletics: High-profile pregame entertainment for UH Football and the Midnight Ohana men’s basketball season-opener.
Signature Bowl Games: Delivering the pregame soundtrack for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl.
Today, Terry remains a vital, active force in the islands' live music community, bringing his signature bass lines to multiple active projects:
Sunset Dogs: Terry performs weekly with this popular rock outfit, anchoring the live music lineup at the legendary Irish Rose Saloon in Waikiki.
Audissey: Bringing the nostalgia of the 1970s back to the stage, Terry plays bass for this popular dance music band, notably performing for the highly anticipated Magic Mushroom reunion events.
From humble beginnings in a high school band room to rocking major arenas and legendary local venues, Terry Lum continues to do what he loves most: keeping the groove alive for Hawaii music lovers.
